The Home Buying Process
When you’re considering investing in a home, here are some tips to help get you started
Finding A Realtor
Getting a realtor to help you from the beginning will benefit you tremendously. In Florida, realtors can assist you with any home that is for sale, so find an agent you trust and let them guide you through the process. Realtors also have access to information about homes that the public does not and this can be extremely helpful.
Talking to a Lender
Talking to a great lender at the beginning of the process helps you know your budget, what type of loans you qualify for, and which would be best for you. Many agencies will require you to have a pre approval before showing you any homes. We do not always require this, but it’s typically in your best interest.
Starting the Search
Although the consumer websites are easy to browse, it’s important that you are aware that they are not owned and operated by local agents. Local agents pay money to advertise on the websites in order to connect with potential clients. Listing information is not always accurate and your information can be sent out to many agents at one time.
Finding Your Perfect Home
Whether it takes one or one hundred homes to find the perfect fit for you, it’s important that your realtor will patiently go on that journey with you. Finding a home that meets your needs and is of great value is what is most important.
Making an Offer
Be prepared to work with your realtor on making offers and making sure to negotiate a great price. The journey doesn’t have to be scary or complicated with the right guidance.
Getting Under Contract
Once you’re in an executed contract there are documents, inspections, appraisals, repair negotiations, and closings. Communicate with your realtor so that you are on the same page as you move through the process.
